Hunan Lake Chinese Restaurant in Mentor, Ohio.

This is nothing more than a small storefront in a small strip center, but, I shit you not, this place has the best Chinese food I have ever eaten bar none. I stopped in this evening, Tuesday the 11th of December at about 6PM. There were three people sitting in the dining room awaiting food, while the wonderful proprietress, I presume, was seated behind the counter as is almost always the case. I ordered Pork Lo Mien and two egg rolls which came to $8.55. I pulled out eight singles, then went to put it back to get my credit card, (Though I know it would have probably cost 1/2 that amount or more to do a credit sale, she still didn't have to do it.) but she told me the $8.00 would be just fine. I swear I haven't had someone do that for me in at least 30 years. It made my heart swell with pride that this place is right here in my neighborhood.

Not only was that about the nicest thing anyone has done in a long time, BUT this place also make the absolute BEST egg rolls I have EVER eaten. I don't know what they do, but none are even close to as good. The Lo Mien was, and usually is, pretty damned good, too. Good job guys. Keep it up. And you Ms. Owner, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. You made my year by that small gesture.
