Hunter's Riverside Tavern in Burton, Ohio

Last Sunday, September 17, 2006 I and a group of 11 other brave and daring souls decided to get off our lazy asses and enjoy one of the last truly nice days before the setting in of the winter season. We all went to the Hunter’s Riverside Tavern in Burton, Ohio for some canoeing fun. We rented six boats, which at $25.00 per boat was $150.00 and bought things from the tavern.

On the marquee outside the restaurant/bar was a sign reading “Prime Rib Night Tonite”
Being the fact that eating and drinking are two of the things we do the best, we all planned to come back after the trip and eat. We actually tried to do what we had planned, but the stars were not in our favor this day. After an inordinate amount of time spent trying to figure out a seating arrangement, which the server handled very poorly calling our two fifteen year olds and one twenty-one year old, “The children…at the children’s table.” Honey, for your information, that was incredibly condescending to them as you can’t be much past that yourself. Anyway, thee crux of the story is that there was no Prime Rib. “Oh, that was from yesterday,” Our server said with a smile. She said she would check to see if there might be some left. While she was gone we decided that due to poor form and the fact that we didn’t want reheated over done Prime Rib we would find something else.
Get organized or get out of the business. I’m sure our server was kicking herself in the ass when she realized we were going to leave. Next time maybe you’ll think before you prove you’re either too lazy or too disorganized to change the marquee. We ended up going somewhere else and spending over $150.00 there. You lose!
