Pritchard's Dairy Queen in Mentor, Ohio, etc.

Hello everyone. Sorry I’ve been away but the Virtual Schoolhouse is taking up a great deal of my time these days. Anyway, that is for another time. Today’s rant is two fold but mostly about the Fucking employees of Pritchard’s Dairy Queen on Lakeshore Boulevard in Mentor, Ohio. Before I get to that I want to make a general statement about the sadly and disgustingly declining manners of the general public today. I know the first thing you all are thinking is, Kids these days…,” Well, you’re wrong. This is NOT about the kids. This is about the adults of the fifty to sixty-ish age range. I have never seen a group of less friendly, less polite, and actually downright rude people in my life. How fucking much energy does it take to say excuse me when you walk in front of someone while looking at the videos in Blockbuster? Not much! Come on, you uncouth crude fuckheads try a little common (uncommon is more like it) courtesy. It would go a long way toward making this planet we call home a better place.

Now, on to the idiot at DQ. I went through the drive thru at about 8:30 this evening, 10-14-06. I asked for a medium chocolate malt with extra malt. Now, mind you, I have only done this one time before and the kid acted like he had no idea how to do such a thing but figured it out. This time, though, I noticed that there was no question, but the drink suddenly cost 30 cents extra. I do understand that the malt has a cost but not that much. I buy my own malt, obviously not in bulk as they do, and I know it doesn’t cost more than about a nickel for the extra they give. Be that as it may, I asked the man who came to the window if that was, in fact, what had happened. He said that it was and questioned me as to why I would ask and if I still wanted the malt. I said that I did but would be hard pressed to come back as I felt that to be over priced. He then said, “Why? We have to pay for it why shouldn’t you?” I was immediately irked beyond belief. This is not the first time I have had a complaint about the attitude of the people at this store. That man should NEVER have said anything more than, “I’m sorry to hear that.” Or something along those lines. I would say the man was between twenty-five and thirty-five with very short hair, brown I believe, glasses and a small gold wedding band on his left ring finger. Get rid of him or at least write him up. You never argue with or talk down to a customer.
I was so irate I snatched my money back from him and left saying some choice words that had something to do with, “fuck.”
