Ron Trzcinski owner of Original Mattress Factory
I want, make that NEED, to make a comment about the article in the Plain Dealer Business Section of December 31, 2006. The front page of the section touted the ideals and business acumen of Ron Trzcinski of the Original Mattress Factory. Although I cannot deny his thought about being and “un-salesman,” I do take offence to one thing that he stated. I must admit that it may not have actually been stated by him and may have been the inadvertent work of the reporter but, be that as it may, I fell it was in poor taste.
In the section under the heading, “Perfect Pitch,” a question was asked: “Why am I a good salesman?” His answer was, to me, incredibly offensive. Although the concept of being able to talk to dignitaries as well as the “common man,” is well known and often used, his manner of statement was crass. “… I could talk to the President of the United States and be comfortable and I could talk to the lowest street person and be comfortable.”
Who the hell is he to think that "the lowest street person" is below him in any way, shape or form? In my eyes, after that comment, he is the lowest kind of human being. One that thinks he is something he is not. I had considered looking in to a purchase from his company, but, even if it would save me hundreds of dollars, I would NEVER give his company my money. He is NOT better than anyone else and should remeber that. In fact, his statement is nothing more than a look into the mind of a haughty, prejudiced, careless man who is obviously out of touch with the real world. Re-think your words, sir. Actually, I should say, THINK before using your words.
