El Rodeo on 615 in Mentor, Ohio

I have written about this place before, so I will keep this very short and sweet. I love the authentic fell and flavor of El Rodeo, but I think the building is looking a bit tired. It needs a good paint job in the men's room and some of the booth seats are in bad shape with many cracks, etc. I also think their salsa is not very tasty. The only thing I could taste was some heat and cilantro. The tomatoes seemed to have been overpowered which should never be in a tomato based anything. But the food, as always was enough for two meals or more and it was damned tasty.

But, today, I am writing for one purpose. Our server, Andrea, was superb. She did leave us for a bit too long between our queso fundido and ordering, but that was minor. When she brought out our food and we, as usual, marveled at the size, she suggested we eat the plated with the lettuce first and bring the other home as THAT plate was easier to warm later without wilting anything. I have never had a server say something like that. It was incredibly refreshing. Good for you Andrea. Keep up the good work and thanks for your advice. Kudos to you.
