Don Pablo's Restaurante, Willoughby, Ohio

In general this was a great dining experience. Our server, Candace, though she did not pronounce gallo (as in pico de gallo) with the "y" sound, as she should have, was excellent. She was not over attentive as some can be, but nor was she too distant. She was always there when we needed her and she graciously fixed the two small problems we had which were not directly of her doing. One of our knives had paper stuck to it as if it were still wet when rolled in the napkin and our to go bowls had something on them. She fixed both with a smile and an apology. The food was very good. We had a dip sampler, a steak fajita enchilada, (The steak could have been a bit more tender but it had a good flavor.), and an El Matador.

Now for the problem, which was admittedly minor. Yet it was just annoying enough to rate a comment. Upon our arrival, my companion and I entered the lobby area There was no one there to seat us. It took approximately five minutes before we were even acknowledged by the hostess, whose name I did not get. When she did take us to our table I had to ask that it be cleaned as it had grease spots and crumbs all over. I also noticed that of the four other parties that came in after us three of them had to wait much too long as well. This was the only problem, but the manager knew it was taking place as he walked by both us and the other parties without so much as a, "we'll be right with you." He may not have known we were waiting but that is his job. I didn't get his name either. Thanks
