Gale's Garden Center Willoughby Hills, Ohio
About 3PM on May 20, 2006 I went to Gale’s Garden Center on SOM Center and Chardon Roads in Willoughby Hills. I was very unimpressed. Firstly, they had very little in the way of selection for their herbs. Those they did have looked as if they had been through some proverbial war as they were all brown and limp. (the sorel was brown, the lovage plants all looked to have been ravaged by some insect or beast, and there were three different types of plant, maybe herb maybe not, which were unlabeled and no one stopped when we attempted to ask a question). Secondly, their prices were outrageous. I could have gotten four times as many tomato plants, and in much better condition, from Marc’s. That is a very sad state of affairs in my book. I have always tried to focus my consumer dollar on the more local businesses, but since Gale’s has grown, their quality has waned and their prices have gained. I will shop elsewhere from now on.
