Red Lobster in Western Akron

On July 22, 2006 I had the ability to dine with a new friend at the Red Lobster on Market street on the west side of Akron, Ohio. This experience was one of joy, and a bit of trepidation, only due to the “date” factor of the meal. I ordered the Broiled Seafood Platter while my companion ordered Jumbo Coconut Shrimp. Both plates of food were good as is standard for Red Lobster. Here is where is gets good.

I get the feeling our waitress was perceptive about the meal, though I do not want to be presumptuous. I, at one point, asked if something was missing from my plate, as it seemed as though I had read something else. She said everything looked to be as it should, therefore, since I had already had the feeling, I asked for the menu. She immediately, sensing a situation that could have gotten ugly, though I was very far from anger or even annoyance, turned it into a joke. She then brought the menu and proved I had just misread. The remainder of the meal was not only less tense it was almost fun due to her regular, but not too often, return to our table for another slight joke. Her name was Shana T and she was superb. She deserves kudos for her ability to read a situation and take control for the better.

The GM, I believe was also quite visible and even came to speak to us three different times throughout the meal. I found that a bit strange but she was nice nonetheless.

The only thing that was wrong was the fact that we only got two biscuits. What’s up with that? I could eat four of them myself and then want more with my meal. Don’t go getting cheap on us here guys.
