Ruby Tuesday in Mentor, Ohio
This is going to be a shock to all of you, because it was for me, but here goes. I am going to highly recommend a chain restaurant. If you ever get the chance, go to Ruby Tuesday on Diamond Center Drive near the Route 2 and Heisley road interchange in Mentor, Ohio. I walked in expecting to be under-whelmed but was quickly surprised.
My companion and I took a tour past the salad bar before even sitting and were both impressed by the layout. It had many different salads to try that one does not often see. I am not saying that it had as many choices as some but they were different which is something we always look for.
We were seated quickly and efficiently and had our drinks in ample time. Our order was taken with professionalism and courtesy. Our server, Sarah, was not overbearing nor overly distant, in fact she was just as she should have been. Kudos to you Sarah. The food was typical American fare with a slight twist. The ribs were fall off the bone tender with a sweet smokey sauce, I personally could have done without the smoke flavor but they were still good. I also had the Cajun fried shrimp. Those were quite good also. I usually avoid fried shrimp as it takes away from the flavor of the shrimp, but this batter enhanced the shrimp without overpowering. The chicken fingers, rounding out my triple play, were average. My companion had the Two Minis meal with fries and salad bar. She said her small burgers were excellent and we both really liked the salad bar, thought some of the pre-mixed salads, such a green bean, could have had a more flavorful dressing.
All in all, we would definitely recommend this particular restaurant. It may be freshman luck that they are doing well as they have not been open long, but do try them out.
