Wing Food & Spirits on Lakeshore in Eastlake, Ohio

Hello again my readers,

Today we embark on a trip to Wings, formerly known as, Frank and Tony's or The Brick Oven, or The Chagrin Tavern or... you get the point. Anyway, as soon as we walked in we detected something awry. There was not decent space for groups of more than four. The majority of the tables, all high tops which is not good for those with hip and leg problems, were attached to the wall. There was one extra table that allowed for us to all sit together. This place is now nothing more than a bar that serves food while in other inceptions it was more a restaurant that served alcohol. I was not impressed.

The menu was typical bar food with a flare. While the food was generally good, it took an incredible amount of time to be served, almost 1/2 hour from order to service. BUT our server, Dani, was wonderful. She was incredibly personable as well as quite knowledgeable when asked questions about the large back room and plans for the establishment. Dani seemed happy and genuinely glad to work with us. In addition, she knew the menu quite well. Even the cook was very nice as he tried to explain the bizarre wing menu.

As a wing place it was almost required that we order some wings, which we did. I ordered mild, I hate things that are hot enough to cause pain. I was told by Dani, "Our mild is actually like a BBQ sauce with some heat to it. Our hot is like everyone else's mild."
"Why do something like that," I thought. They were, in fact, correct. The next strange thing regarding the wings happened when one of our party ordered the Teriaky. I have NEVER eaten a Teriaky sauce that tasted like theirs in my life. The sauce seemed to come straight from Chardon and the Maple Festival. Maple Teriaky? What? The garlic and Parmesan sauce was good together, BUT according to one of our party, the garlic butter had very little garlic taste.

We ordered other things as well. I ordered a Roman Style Burger, obviously lifted from Mr. Hero's. I like Mr. Heor's better but only because there is more burger on the one here at wings which detracted from the taste of the other shit on the bun. The most wonderful thing I have to say is that Wings offered a side of Tater Tots instead of only the general fries. What a great idea.! Every one else ordered burgers which were OK and one got a shrimp basket full of breading and very little else. (Not that we expected a lot from a $6.00 shrimp basket.)

I think these people need to figure out what they are trying to do. The food was just OK and the wings, though much more meaty than a Wing Stop, had very strange flavors and strange names for some of those falvors. My suggestion: Don't try to confuse your patrons, you may think it is cute to make up your own names, but it most assuredly is not. I was not amused.
