Remington Montana in Niagra Falls, Ontario.

Don't fucking go there is all I really need to say! I will tell you more, but, until you hear the rest, it would be best to just heed my dire warning. (Unless of course, you want food that is nothing more than standard for prices that should have had us in culinary ecstasy.)

On our first night in the Canadian playground called Niagara Falls, mind you this was the off season, we decided to get a sit-down dinner somewhere because we had done some walking and had just driven for about 3.5 hours. Since we were on the way back to our "home," we decided to go into the Remington's Montana Steakhouse. There was a sign outside to entice us reading "$7.00 lobster tail with any dinner." We were hooked.

Upon sitting down and opening the menu, I was more than ready to move on. The rest of the party, however, was not having it and wanted to stay. Let it be known that they joined me in bitching about the exorbitant prices the rest of the trip (and beyond). One ordered a $35.00 Prime Rib, no reason for that type of price. Another had a $37.00 Bison steak, dry and much too gamey. One got an $8.00 bowl of Prime Rib soup, excellent by her standards but, again, way over priced. Others had various steak dishes which were no less than $29.00. Some came with broccoli, which tasted as if it were infused with sand, absolutely lovely after paying a proverbial arm and leg for the dinner. In fact a table next to us was trying to get our server to understand the same thing but since Their English wasn't easy to understand, we piped in with the complaint. She didn't even offer to do anything. Anyway, back to the rest of the meal. I had what was written as a Crab Cocktail with Snow and Dungeness claws and King Crab as well as some other type of crab which I cannot recall. Well, there were two small Dungeness claws and 1/2 of a 1/2 inch diameter four inch long piece of King Crab for fucking $17.00. What an outrageous rip-off. I also ordered an Artichoke-Asiago dip which was quite good and not too overboard at $7.00. All totaled our bill came to over $250.00 that was with only two drinks and two of us only getting "cheap" appetizers.

I will NEVER go there again and I would advise you to do the same. There are tons of places to go. Just walk around and look you will be glad you did.

PS: Don't miss the Giant Ferris Wheel, but make sure you go in the day or ensure the lights will be on over the falls. We went a bit late and couldn't see much. I guess that's what happens after a day of drinking and carousing. Oh well... Have a smashing day.
