KFC Mentor Avenue...Mentor, Ohio

Today I went to the KFC on Mentor Avenue in Mentor, Ohio. I was very pleasantly surprised at the outset. As I have written many at time here in this blog, our idea of service in this country has taken an extremely scary turn for the worst. Most servers are rude and have no problem letting you know they are unhappy. But I digress…. In fact when I drove up to the drive through window, I asked for something, which was no longer being advertised, but I have come to like. The 7 pieces of dark meat for $4.99. The man on the other end of the microphone explained that it was a coupon special but he would be happy to accommodate me anyway. I was impressed with his ability to be nice without reason. I found his name on his tag to be Lemond. This was at 3:27 PM on May 25, 2006. This man should be commended for handling the situation the way he did. If the offer was not available I would have gone somewhere else but he did not know that. It is impressive that he saved a sale by just being nice. Kudos to you, Lemond.

By the way, the chicken legs were dry enough to use as sand paper, but the thighs were OK (not great, just OK).
